Muse REF SHEET 2016

I still need to write lots of stuff about Muse, but here is what I have so far~ I will update this when his info is complete!

Species Info 

-Figments are a monster species that have been around for quite some time. No one knows exactly where they come from, but some speculate that they were born from a monsters "inspiration" and with the help of magic as well. But no one really knows, they were just there one day, living beside monsters in harmony. 

-Figments have always been seen as a sign of good luck and fortune, so when one was seen, nothing but good will come to those who were affiliated with that monster. Because of this, many monsters wished to have a Figment of their own, and monsters welcomed them into their home as if it was a cute puppy. Figments cannot live independently, they always need a host to survive. Because of this, they can live forever, only dying if they don't find a new host, or if there are not any other monsters that they can attach to. If they are attacked while attached to a host, they cannot be harmed. If hit, they will just momentarily fade away from this plane of "existence" so they can regain themselves. A Figment can stay with a host for as long as it wants, most stay forever until their monster dies. 

-Figments are quite a rare species, and tend to collect around other hosts with Figments. Some Figments, if they feel their monster or them is threatened, can take control of their host and multiply their attack power. However, in recent years, since the Monsters were banished Underground, their species have been dwindling and disappearing, unknowst to the monsters that they lived along side with, who were slowly forgetting that they even existed.

-Figments do not have any assigned genders. Most are gender-less. Some will go by he/she/they and so on to make it easier. 

-Figments are creatures who do not have a mother or father that give birth to them. Each individual is already a full adult when they appear.

-Each Figment has their own distinct look, and never look exactly the same.

-Figments do not need to eat to survive. They survive on the Monsters inspiration, but if they wanted, they could chow down a burger which just disappears into their void of a stomach.

-Some Figments can influence other Monsters that they are not attached to, if they are powerful enough (Infectious Inspiration, II) 

-Figments are drawn to Monsters with "creative" thinking and often look like the tools artists use to express themselves.

-Figments are meant to be positive influences for Monsters, Figments that cause harm to it's host are called Fragments and are more like Parasites, but they can disguise themselves in the form of a Figment. Fragments is a creature that no one wants to have, as they are quite deceitful, dangerous and tricky beings that will devour ones Figment.

- Figments are drawn to Boss Monsters, due to their long lifespans. However, there is a price to pay with attaching to boss monsters. If a Boss Monster with a Figment attached to it dies of un-natural causes, this can mark a Figment for life. It's believed that having a Boss Monster die while under their watch marks a Figments soul permanently.

About

Muse has had many hosts during his time of "existing," two were Boss Monsters, hence the two black marks on his tail. One of his hosts, presumably a boss monster, was killed by a Human, so he has quite a dislike for humans and believes every single one of them is a threat; even the small "harmless" looking ones.

Personality:

Muse can be quite rude and immature, possessing quite the attitude when confronting others. He loves to insult others just because he can get away with it without any consequence to him (can't get hurt, can't die) Being alive for so long, he has a pessimistic view on the world. He is quite aloof, not wanting to form a connection with other Monsters, due to having seen so many he has grown attached to, pass away before him. However, he is actually very loyal and protective over those who he deems as his "friends" although, he would never admit to this, he has to keep up his tough guy act after all. He is quite impulsive, for example, going after a human without warning. He gets quite irritable around Monsters that mess around with the monster hes attached to. Likes to be alone and not interact with other monsters much.

Sans/Canon characters: He does not like Sans one bit. He hates his puns and tends to disappear whenever he's around.

If he detaches from Sariel before she dies, be will attach to Capri.
If he doesn't detach from Sariel and chooses to stay, both of them will die.


FACTS

His mouth is never a thin line when closed, its always a thick line (giving it the appearance that it looks always slightly open)
Muse was based off a music note, as music is a sort of inspiration for many artists
Muse is just another word for "inspiration" which is what these creatures are made from.
A reason to why the Figment species has been declining, is possibly because they may have moved to a different timeline, seeing the current one as "too dangerous" for them to stay, or they are disappearing due to their counterparts, the Fragments, who make meals out of these monsters.
When a Figment disappears when attacked in battle, it actually is going into the worlds "code" where its safe to recover.
If Muse gets a 3rd mark on his tail from another Boss Monster dying from un-natural causes, he will cease to exist.

Its done! I have had the sketch of this in my note book for quite some time, so since I am art blocking, I decided to color and outline something ^0^ Also finished coloring this some days ago, but writing down ones info takes a long time!


He has come a long way, since his first drawing~
